Brief

The mask was invented by Moran Campbell of McMaster University School of Medicine as an alternative to intermittent oxygen therapy, which he called “occasionally bringing drowning people to the surface of the water.”

CHARACTERITICS

Venturi tubes or high air flow oxygen enrichment (HAFOE), the mask contains venturi buckets and uses the Bernoulli principle to provide predetermined and fixed oxygen concentrations.

The membrane inside the Wenqiu is soft and light, with no flashing edges, which reduces skin contact and improves patient comfort.
The integrated nose strap and anatomical design ensure that the mask fits snugly against the nose bridge and can be easily adjusted by the patient or caregiver. A well-structured mask improves patient monitoring.
When accuracy is the primary consideration, the peak inspiratory flow is met due to the safe reservoir, and the venturi inner cover ensures that the patient always receives the specified amount of oxygen.
Venturis sometimes operate at flow rates in excess of 78 pm and may cause discomfort if placed too close to the face. At this point the reservoir provides a gentle flow velocity by acting as a diffuser, thereby improving patient compliance.
The mask has a rotating attachment that controls the air entrainment window and affects the oxygen concentration.
This system is typically used with air entrained nebulizers to provide humidification and oxygen therapy.
