Used to deliver oxygen to patients with spontaneous breathing.
Brief
Non-rebreathing Oxygen Mask, it is a plastic mask that acts as an oxygen reservoir and is attached to the patient’s face with an elastic headband.
A defining feature of the device is the presence of a one-way valve.
When the patient inhales, the valve prevents inhalation of indoor air – the patient will only breathe from the oxygen tank.
When the patient exhales, these valves prevent the exhaled gas from moving back to the reservoir to prevent the exhaled gas from re-breathing (hence the “non-circulating respirator”).
CHARACTERITICS
Non-circulating respirators feature a swivel connector for optimal patient comfort and uninterrupted oxygen flow.
